Class of 2011 GRADUATION NOTES STUDENTS/PARENTS/GUARDIANS With Graduation Day quickly approaching, there are several items that need to be considered. We want to continue a tradition at Gray’s Creek High School by having one of the best graduation ceremonies in the county. We need your support to make this a dignified and memorable occasion. Please support our efforts and be reminded of the following:
**GRADUATION DAY**
-Friday, June 8, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Crown Coliseum -Graduates are to report to the Crown no later than 10:15 a.m. -Names will be removed from the call list if the student is not present at 10:15 a.m. -Upon arrival, graduates must bring their gowns on their arms rather than wearing them into the Crown -Everyone attending the graduation should be on time -No small children -No yelling, clapping, loud noises, disturbances, etc. Diplomas will be held. -All graduates and guests must leave the coliseum premises immediately after the ceremony. Make plans ahead of time to meet your family and friends at a location away from the auditorium. -Graduates must not bring items that would need to be carried with them as they cross the stage to receive their diploma. Ladies should lock purses in their car (or leave them with a family member) and bring only their car key with them. Have a pocket or a friend with a pocket for the key. No cell phones, pagers, cameras etc. should be with the graduates. -Graduating seniors will park in the South parking lot for practice and graduation. You should enter from the East Mountain Drive entrance. After parking you will enter the Expo Center through the front entrance into section C and be in your assigned seat by 10:15 on graduation day.
All delinquent fees must be paid on or before May 20, 2011. Students with outstanding delinquent fees will not be given graduation tickets or receive their diploma until the fees have been paid in full. - Males Wear: white shirt, dark tie, dark pants, dark dress shoes - Ladies Wear: dark dress or dark pants and white top, dark dress shoes with a strap on the heel or an enclosed heel, skin tone hose - Tassels: worn on right side of cap until changed - Caps: worn level (no tilted caps) - National Honors Society: Stole - Honor Students: Cord

ON CAPS. Graduation from high school is a milestone in the life of a student and his/her family. We solicit your support to make this graduation a dignified and memorable occasion. NO applauding, whistling, cheering, etc., until all NAMES HAVE BEEN CALLED. Then you will be given the opportunity to applaud. Applause for individual students will mean that the name of the next person being called will not be heard by their friends and family. Let each guest who received a ticket from you know that any disruption that they cause will result in your diploma being held. Guests need to be aware that getting through the line into the Crown to be seated will take some time. Therefore, they should arrive one hour early to ensure sufficient time to pass through check points and security screenings and be seated by 10:45. Camera cases and bags will be subject to search upon entry to the building.
Please notify your guests that the following items are prohibited. · Guns, knives, or any concealed weapon · Outside food & beverages · Handheld lasers, lights, and pointers · Backpacks · Illegal substances · Umbrellas, balloons, stuffed toys, or wrapped/unwrapped gifts · Items affecting safety or security of patrons or participants · Cigarettes, cigars, or smoke products Guests will use the East parking lot. This means they will turn off of Hwy 301 onto East Mountain Drive. Guests should arrive one hour before the ceremony begins to ensure sufficient time to pass through check points and security screenings. Every guest must have a ticket to attend the ceremony regardless of their age. BOTH GRADUATION REHEARSALS ARE MANDATORY! All seniors must rehearse if they are to participate in the graduation ceremony. DO NOT BE LATE! Graduation practices are closed to the public, so friends and family members will not be allowed to attend.
1. Tuesday, June 7, 2011 @ Gray’s Creek High School gymnasium. Start time 8:45 a.m. SHARP! Make plans to be at the practice as long as it takes to get everything right.
2. Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. @ the Crown Coliseum. Wear cap and gown. Be in your seat no later than 9:30 a.m.. Seniors will be given 6 graduation tickets
automatically.
June 6th--Baccalaureate, GCHS Auditorium at 6:00 p.m. June 7th – Practice in the gym at 8:45 a.m. June 8th – Graduation Practice at the Crown– Be in place at 9:30 a.m.
June 10th – Graduation – Be in place at 10:15
