MEDIA CENTER GUIDELINES

The Gray's Creek High School Media Center is a dynamic and interactive, multimedia learning environment.  Please remember to keep your voices quiet and respect those around you.

Food & drink are not allowed in the media center and all school rules apply (no book bags, cell phones, hats, sunglasses, etc...).

Tables and chairs are designed for group or class work and couches are to be used for reading.  Computers are available for school work only; no games. Students are expected to adhere to the Cumberland County Schools' acceptable use policy at all times.

Books in the regular collection may be checked out for up to 14 days, while books in the reference collection may be checked out only overnight.

Magazines and newspapers are provided for reading and may be checked out overnight.  Back issues of magazines and newspapers are also available for student and teacher use.

Students entering the media center must be with a class or have a note from their teacher.  All students must sign in at the front desk.  Substitutes may not send students to the media center.

The media center is usually open for book check out and renewal or for students with a media related purpose during all lunches. Occasionally,  the media center may be closed for meetings, classes or testing.  There will be a sign on the door indicating that the library is reserved.

Students are expected to pick up after themselves.  Please throw away trash, log off of the computers, push in your chairs, return magazines and newspapers and help make the media center a clean and safe environment.

The printer may be used to print out schoolwork only. Please conserve toner and paper by being selective about what you print and by printing only what is absolutely necessary.

Teachers may sign up to use the media center throughout the day or after school.  Reserving the space is organized on a first come first served basis.  Please contact Mrs. Lovette or Mrs. Jackson to reserve a library time.
