The Role of the Library Media Program

Flexible Scheduling:

The Media Center is available throughout the school day as well as before and after school. Teachers collaborate with the Media Coordinator and schedule class visits as needed.

Reader Advisory Service:

The Media Coordinator assists students in defining their interests, and provides them with guidance in the selection and use of media in all formats. Student literacy is promoted through a quality collection, promotional activities, and special events.

Availability of Materials:

The GCHS Media Center offers students access to a wide variety of print resources in addition to online databases, electronic journals and texts via the Internet.

Collection Development:

Collection development is a continuous process that works to acquire relevant resources for our students and faculty based on needs assessment, collection age and teacher suggestions.
